“No Crisis, No Fights, Everything Went Peacefully” Oborevwori Thanks God After APC Primaries

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Tuesday expressed gratitude to God over the peaceful conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in the state, describing the exercise as one of the smoothest political outings witnessed in recent years.
Speaking during a morning devotion at the Government House Chapel in Asaba, the governor said the successful and crisis-free primaries were a clear indication of God’s faithfulness and the unity existing among party faithful in Delta State.
Oborevwori noted that thanksgiving had always remained part of his lifestyle after every victory, stressing that appreciation to God was necessary in all situations.
According to him, “First, I want to thank God today for keeping us to this day. Thank God for all He has done for us and for the show of love Deltans have shown this administration.
“So, I have come here to return the glory to God who has made everything possible. No crisis, no fights, nothing. Everything went peacefully.”
The governor recalled the tense atmosphere that surrounded the 2022 political primaries, noting that the peaceful outcome of the recent APC exercise was enough reason for gratitude.
“If you know what we went through in the 2022 primaries, we have every reason to thank God that everything went well,” he stated.
Oborevwori also cautioned against excessive loyalty to political leaders, reminding worshippers that service should be directed to God rather than individuals.
“You are not serving me, you are serving God. Salvation is personal,” he said.
The governor further urged citizens to remain thankful for life and good health, emphasizing that wealth without sound health was meaningless.
He also commended members of the Government House Chapel for sustaining regular prayer sessions and disclosed that the state government would hold its annual thanksgiving service on Friday as part of activities marking his third anniversary in office.
