Oborevwori Charges Muslims To Embrace Sacrifice, Pray For Nigeria’s Peace

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on Muslim faithful across the country to use the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration to offer fervent prayers for peace, unity and sustainable development in Nigeria.
In a goodwill message released through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor urged Muslims to reflect on the core values of Eid-el-Kabir, particularly sacrifice, compassion, love and selflessness.
Oborevwori noted that the festival remains a reminder of total obedience to Allah and commitment to humanity, stressing the need for Nigerians to continue promoting peaceful coexistence irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
He encouraged Muslim faithful to extend hands of fellowship to the less privileged, vulnerable and needy in society through acts of charity and almsgiving, which he described as one of the pillars of Islam.
The governor further appealed to citizens to remain steadfast in supporting one another during difficult times, adding that national progress can only be achieved through unity, prayers and collective dedication to nation-building.
Oborevwori expressed optimism that Nigeria would overcome its present challenges and continue on the path of peace, security and socio-economic growth.
He also wished Muslims in Delta State and across the country a peaceful, joyous and fulfilling Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging them to celebrate responsibly while upholding the virtues of faith, sacrifice and love for humanity.
