Oborevwori Attributes Administration’s Successes to God’s Grace, Commends Delta Civil Servants

ASABA – Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has attributed the achievements of his administration to the grace and faithfulness of God, while commending civil servants for their unwavering dedication, professionalism and commitment to the growth and development of the state.
The governor spoke on Sunday during an inter-denominational thanksgiving service held at the Church of God Mission International, Asaba, to mark the 2026 Delta State Civil Service Week.
Represented by his deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, Governor Oborevwori said the thanksgiving service was organised in obedience to the biblical injunction to return all glory to God for His goodness, stressing that every milestone recorded by his administration had been made possible through divine grace.
“We acknowledge that every achievement we celebrate is by His grace, and we thank Him for the men and women whose dedicated service continues to advance the work of government in our dear state,” he said.
The governor described public service as a sacred trust and praised the state’s workforce for their invaluable contributions, noting that although much of their work is carried out behind the scenes, its impact is evident in the steady progress recorded across Delta State.
He congratulated the civil servants on the successful celebration of the Civil Service Week and urged them to remain committed to integrity, diligence, accountability and selfless service in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Oborevwori assured workers that his administration would continue to prioritise their welfare, strengthen capacity development and build a more efficient and responsive public service capable of delivering quality services to Deltans.
He also expressed appreciation to religious leaders across the state for their prayers and spiritual guidance, calling for sustained intercession for wisdom for leaders, enduring peace and greater prosperity in Delta State and Nigeria.
“As we return to our various duties, may we do so with renewed faith, fresh strength and an unwavering commitment to excellence,” the governor stated.
In her remarks, the Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji, expressed gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for his unwavering support for the state’s civil service, saying his administration had created an enabling environment for workers to excel.
Delivering the sermon, Rev. (Dr.) Eric Nwachukwu encouraged Christians to remain steadfast in their faith, reminding them that God’s goodness remains constant despite life’s challenges.
“You don’t need any evidence to know that God is working. Stop focusing on your troubles; keep believing in the goodness of God because He uses everything for your good,” the cleric admonished.
The thanksgiving service was attended by top government officials, including the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, represented by Hon. Bridget Anyafulu, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Government House, Sir Christopher Osakwe, retired and serving permanent secretaries, directors and other civil servants.
