Kiepele Hails Silva Ofugara’s Commitment to Grassroots Football Development in Delta

Chairman of the All-Stars Teams of the Ofugara Peace and Unity Football Tournament, Chief Mike Igho Kiepele, has showered praises and commendation on the Chairman of the Board and Management of the Ofugara Give Back Initiative and Ofugara Peace and Unity Football Tournament, Mr. Silva Ofugara, for his unwavering commitment towards the growth of football and youth empowerment in Delta State and beyond.
Speaking with journalists during the surprise birthday celebration organised in honour of Mr. Ofugara over the weekend, Chief Kiepele described the celebrant as “a God-sent personality” whose passion and sacrifices have revived All-Stars football in Delta State.
According to him, the Ofugara Peace and Unity Football Tournament has grown into one of the most respected grassroots football competitions in the state, attracting admiration from retired footballers, sports enthusiasts and community leaders across the country.
He noted that through Mr. Ofugara’s vision, commitment, resources and personal time devoted to the initiative, several retired footballers and ageing talents now have a platform to remain active, united and relevant within the sporting community.
Chief Kiepele further described the tournament as the “Elite World Cup in Delta State,” stressing that the competition has continued to foster peace, unity, friendship and healthy living among former footballers and participants from different communities.
“Today, retired footballers across Delta State and neighbouring states look forward to participating in the Ofugara tournament every year because it has become a household name and a platform that promotes togetherness and mutual respect,” he stated.
The All-Stars chairman commended Mr. Ofugara for consistently investing in programmes that positively impact lives, adding that his humanitarian gestures through the Ofugara Give Back Initiative have touched many families, youths and communities.
He urged other well-meaning Deltans, corporate organisations and public-spirited individuals to emulate the initiative by investing in projects and ventures that cut across all age groups in society.
Chief Kiepele emphasized that sustainable community development can only be achieved when influential individuals commit their resources towards initiatives that unite people and create opportunities for growth.
