The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially flagged off its 2027 election campaign in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area, with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and other party leaders calling on Deltans to vote massively for President Bola Tinubu and all APC candidates.
At the rally held on Thursday, Oborevwori urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation, expressing confidence that the APC would secure victory across all elective positions in the 2027 general elections.
The governor said his decision to join the APC followed extensive consultations with political stakeholders and was aimed at aligning Delta State with the Federal Government for accelerated development.
He commended President Tinubu’s economic reforms, particularly the increase in revenue allocations to state and local governments, which he said had enhanced their capacity to execute projects and meet financial obligations.
Oborevwori also disclosed that 17,500 Delta students had benefited from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), encouraging more eligible students to take advantage of the initiative.
Highlighting his administration’s achievements in infrastructure, education and healthcare, the governor revealed that the State Executive Council had approved the construction of police divisional headquarters across the 25 local government areas in anticipation of the proposed establishment of state police.
Former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa challenged party faithful to work towards delivering more than two million votes for Tinubu and Oborevwori, insisting that the APC must secure victory at all levels.
Similarly, Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme highlighted the administration’s progress in road infrastructure, education and healthcare, urging residents to sustain their support for the government.
Director-General of the Delta APC Campaign Council, Senator James Manager, acknowledged the economic challenges confronting Nigerians but urged citizens to remain hopeful, expressing optimism that the Federal Government’s reforms would yield greater benefits.
APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, commended the massive turnout at the rally, which he described as impressive, while defending the Tinubu administration’s economic policies.
At the event, the state APC Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, presented party flags to candidates contesting the Delta South Senatorial District, Isoko Federal Constituency and the Isoko North and South constituencies, charging them to work towards victory in their respective polling units.

Also speaking at the rally in Ozoro, Governor Oborevwori appealed to the Isoko people to support the APC, urging them to demonstrate their affection for his wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, who hails from the area, through their votes.
The governor’s wife also appealed to the Isoko nation to support Tinubu, her husband and other APC candidates, describing the ballot as a powerful instrument of political expression.
Other party chieftains, including Chief Solomon Ogba, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, Chief Ovuozourie Macaulay, Ovie Umuakpor, Hon. Itiako Ikpokpo and Hon. Oviemuno Oghoore, also canvassed support for the party.
