Grief in Government House: Oborevwori Mourns Trusted Aide Sunday Kotor, Calls Death Devastating Loss

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed profound grief over the sudden passing of his Senior Special Assistant on Protocol, Mr. Sunday Kotor, describing the incident as a devastating blow to the state.
Kotor reportedly collapsed during a private event on Friday evening and was rushed to a medical facility, where all efforts to revive him failed. His death was later confirmed, sending shockwaves across Government House and beyond.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor paid glowing tribute to the late aide, noting his unwavering dedication and exceptional service.
“ Late Sunday Kotor was wholly committed to his duties. His passing is a huge loss, not only to his family but to the government and people of Delta State,” the governor lamented.
Oborevwori extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, particularly his younger brother, Mr. Conference Kotor, who also serves in the administration as Senior Special Assistant on Media.
For over two decades, Kotor remained a familiar and vibrant figure in Delta’s public service space, anchoring major state functions as a seasoned Master of Ceremonies. His service spanned multiple administrations, including those of Emmanuel Uduaghan and Ifeanyi Okowa.
A Mass Communication graduate of Delta State University, Abraka, the late Kotor hailed from Okwagbe in Ughievwen Kingdom, Ughelli South Local Government Area.
His sudden demise has plunged family members, colleagues, and associates into deep mourning, with many describing his loss as shocking and deeply painful, given his longstanding contributions and lively presence at public events.
