“Our Strength Lies in Unity” — Oborevwori Inaugurates Grassroots Ambassadors

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Tuesday, formally inaugurated Local Government and Ward Coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, charging them to operate with unity, discipline and a shared sense of purpose in advancing the movement across the state.
The inauguration ceremony, held in Asaba, drew a gathering of top government functionaries, party stalwarts and key stakeholders, marking a significant step in deepening grassroots political engagement.
Represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, Governor Oborevwori described the newly inaugurated coordinators as the “heartbeat” of the Renewed Hope initiative, stressing that their emergence establishes a structured and responsive bridge between government and the people at the grassroots.
“This inauguration is not just recognition; it is empowerment. It gives you the authority to act, the structure to operate, and the responsibility to deliver,” he stated.
The governor noted that the deployment of 25 Local Government and 270 Ward Coordinators signals the formal take-off of a coordinated grassroots framework aimed at bringing governance closer to the people and strengthening its impact in communities.
Emphasising the theme, Our Party, One Message, One Mobilisation, Oborevwori urged the ambassadors to maintain a unified voice and consistent messaging, noting that the success of the movement depends largely on cohesion and discipline.
“Our strength lies in unity. When we function with one message and one mobilisation, we become more effective and unstoppable,” he added.
He further tasked the coordinators to actively engage residents, listen to their concerns and clearly communicate government policies and programmes, while also showcasing the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the Renewed Hope agenda.
In his remarks, former Delta State Governor and South-South Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, described the initiative as a strategic platform designed to deepen public engagement and counter misinformation about government reforms.
Okowa urged the ambassadors to work closely with party structures at the ward level, including chairmen and councillors, stressing the importance of effective communication in explaining key policies such as fuel subsidy removal and its benefits to national revenue and development programmes.
Also speaking, Delta State APC Chairman, Chief Solomon Areyenka, expressed optimism about the party’s growing strength in the state, declaring that it is steadily advancing towards electoral success.
On his part, APC National Vice Chairman (South-South), Hon. Victor Giadom, reminded the coordinators that leadership begins at the grassroots, describing them as the direct link between the party, the presidency and the people.
State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, said the inauguration represents a strategic consolidation of the movement’s structure across all 25 local government areas and 270 wards in Delta State.
He charged the ambassadors to discharge their responsibilities with dedication, integrity and a strong commitment to the ideals of unity and service, in order to effectively drive the Renewed Hope agenda at the grassroots level.
