The Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Council, Hon. (Pastor) Jude Chukwunwike, has joined his counterpart, the Executive Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Anthony Ofoni, to celebrate the chieftaincy title recently conferred on the Uvwie council boss.The traditional honour was bestowed by Emmanuel Sideso, JP, OON, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom (Abe I), at a colourful ceremony held in Uvwie Local Government Area.Speaking during the event, Hon. Chukwunwike described Chief Ofoni as a worthy ambassador of Uvwie Local Government, commending his purposeful leadership and visible contributions to grassroots development since assuming office.“I am not surprised that the Uvwie monarch has deemed it fit to honour you,” Chukwunwike said. “Your commitment to progress, peace and inclusive development across the local government clearly justifies this recognition.”He noted that the chieftaincy title was not only a personal honour for Chief Ofoni, but also a testament to effective local governance and constructive engagement with traditional institutions.The Aniocha South council chairman offered prayers for continued divine guidance, wisdom and strength for Chief Ofoni, urging him to see the honour as a renewed call to service to the people of Uvwie Kingdom and beyond.Also present at the ceremony was former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Efe Ofoburuku, alongside traditional chiefs, political leaders, community stakeholders and well-wishers who thronged the venue to witness the historic occasion.The event underscored the enduring partnership between elected officials and traditional rulers in advancing peace, unity and sustainable development at the grassroots level in Delta State.
