The Chairman of Burutu Local Government Area, Chief Julius Takeme, has called on residents and stakeholders across Burutu Federal Constituency to turn out in large numbers to welcome the Wife of the Delta State Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, during her humanitarian outreach to Kiagbodo on August 6.
The outreach, organised by the You Matter Charity Foundation, is scheduled to commence at 9 a.m. in Kiagbodo as part of the foundation’s statewide humanitarian programme aimed at supporting vulnerable persons and promoting social inclusion.
In a goodwill message ahead of the visit, Takeme described the visit as a privilege for the people of Burutu, noting that the constituency was honoured to host the First Lady as the foundation extends its humanitarian interventions across Delta State.
The council chairman commended the You Matter Charity Foundation for its sustained support for children with special needs, women and other vulnerable groups, saying its activities have brought hope and relief to many families across the state.
According to him, the foundation’s humanitarian initiatives have continued to improve the lives of vulnerable residents through programmes designed to provide assistance and promote social welfare.
Takeme praised Deaconess Oborevwori for what he described as her compassion and selfless commitment to humanitarian service, adding that the outreach would provide renewed hope and meaningful support to beneficiaries in Burutu Federal Constituency.
He appealed to political leaders, traditional rulers, councillors, community and religious leaders, civil society organisations, youth and women groups, as well as other stakeholders, irrespective of political affiliation, to give the Governor’s wife and her entourage a warm reception.
He also urged residents to use the occasion to showcase the hospitality and unity of the Burutu people while appreciating the humanitarian efforts of the You Matter Charity Foundation.
Takeme reaffirmed the readiness of the local government to host the event, expressing confidence that the outreach would leave a lasting positive impact on the people of Burutu Federal Constituency.
