Oborevwori Assures Delta Youths of More Employment Through Infrastructure Drive

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling unemployment through aggressive infrastructural development and sustained collaboration with construction companies operating in the state.
The governor gave the assurance while speaking to workers at the Julius Berger Nigeria Plc project site in Osubi, Okpe Local Government Area.
Oborevwori noted that unemployment and economic hardship had continued to place pressure on many households, stressing that government remained determined to initiate projects capable of improving the welfare of citizens and creating sustainable opportunities for young people across the state.
According to him, many youths were becoming discouraged due to limited opportunities, adding that his administration would continue to invest in projects that would stimulate economic activities and empower communities.
He commended contractors and workers handling projects in different parts of the state for their contributions to development, describing their efforts as critical to the advancement of host communities and the state at large.
The governor disclosed that more projects would be awarded to Julius Berger Nigeria Plc as part of measures to expand employment opportunities and fast-track infrastructural renewal in Warri, Effurun and other parts of Delta State.
He further revealed that the reconstruction of the Effurun Roundabout to NPA axis had already been awarded to the construction giant in line with the administration’s urban renewal agenda for the Warri/Effurun metropolis.
Oborevwori also praised the economic reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the policies had improved revenue inflow to states and enhanced the ability of governments to execute projects and meet salary obligations promptly.
The governor urged residents and workers to continue supporting the Federal Government and candidates of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on ongoing projects, Oborevwori explained that the completed Trans Warri–Ode Itsekiri roads and bridges project would be inaugurated after the completion of the Ubeji-Ifie Road project.
He maintained that his administration remained focused on completing critical roads, bridges and other infrastructure projects across the state, assuring residents that the benefits would positively impact their daily lives upon completion.
The governor expressed gratitude to workers and supporters for their dedication to the state’s development agenda and prayed for divine protection over workers, residents and road users across Delta State.
