Foundation to offer free health screenings, fitness activities
The Kanu Heart Foundation has announced plans to take its World Heart Day campaign to Warri, Delta State, with a major community health and awareness programme scheduled for September 29, 2026.
The initiative, tagged “The Big Heart Warri – No Dey Carry Last,” is designed to promote cardiovascular health, healthy lifestyles and greater awareness of heart-related diseases among residents and visitors to the city.
The foundation, founded by former Nigerian football star Kanu Nwankwo, said the programme would bring together friends, families, football supporters and members of the wider community for a day of health-focused activities.
A major highlight of the event will be free on-site health screenings, giving participants an opportunity to check their health status and receive basic information on preventive measures against heart-related conditions.
The programme will also feature fitness activities and health-awareness sessions aimed at encouraging participants to embrace regular physical activity and other healthy lifestyle practices.
The foundation urged members of the public to participate in the initiative, stressing the importance of taking proactive steps to protect cardiovascular health.
The campaign carries the message: “Walk with a Champion. Protect Your Heart,” while encouraging residents to move their bodies, undergo regular health checks and make heart health a priority.
The Warri event is part of the foundation’s activities to mark World Heart Day, with the organisers seeking to use the occasion to deepen community awareness and promote healthier living.
