Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets continued their preparations for the upcoming WAFU-B U17 Championship with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Simonben Academy at the FIFA Goal Project pitch inside the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
The five-time world champions dominated proceedings against the Kaduna-based academy, but could only manage a lone goal in the first half despite creating several scoring opportunities.
The Eaglets, tutored by Coach Eboboritse Uwejamomere, raised the tempo after the restart and eventually broke down their opponents’ resistance with three additional goals to complete a convincing 4-0 victory.
Later in the evening, the Eaglets returned to action at the same venue for another friendly against Abuja-based Galadima FC.
However, the Golden Eaglets found it difficult to break down a determined Galadima side, with the encounter ending in a goalless draw.
The friendly matches form part of the team’s build-up ahead of the 2026 WAFU-B U17 Championship, scheduled to take place in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, from October 4 to 17.
