The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially fixed February 20, 2027, for the conduct of the presidential and National Assembly elections across the country.
INEC Chairman, Joash Amupitan, made the announcement on Friday during a press briefing at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja, setting the stage for what promises to be a defining electoral cycle.
According to him, the governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections will follow two weeks later on March 6, 2027, in line with the Commission’s constitutional mandate.
The announcement effectively signals the commencement of preparations for the 2027 general elections, as political parties, stakeholders, and aspirants begin to align strategies ahead of the crucial polls.
